Business News:IBM Canada to handle Aldo Group systems

IBM Canada Ltd. has struck a seven-year, $32.4-million outsourcing deal with Montreal-based Aldo Group Inc. to handle the footwear retailer's business software. The agreement announced yesterday will transfer 30 Aldo employees to IBM Canada of Markham, Ont. Aldo is the first client of IBM Global Services' Retail Solutions Centre in Montreal, meant to manage software needs for Quebec retailers. Aldo has more than 600 stores, including 450 in Canada.
