Retail News:Jones Buying Vanderbilt for $100 Million

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Jones Apparel Group Inc. on Tuesday agreed to buy Gloria Vanderbilt Apparel Corp., a name synonymous with the mass-produced designer jeans in the 1980s, in a $100 million cash and stock deal aimed at growing sales in moderately priced retail chains.
